Adrift on Land

To effectively survive the player will need to manage the PC's stats such as health, stamina, hunger, and thirst, while actively avoiding statuses such as hypothermia, poison, bleeding, or madness. The world is dangerous, but with experience, each obstacle can become easier to manage for the player.

Every foundation, wall, axe, or flashlight that is built or crafted by the player will require some form of resources. The three main ways to gather resources are harvesting, lumbering, and mining; however, some resources can simply be picked up around the world and others need to be refined or processed from other resources or raw materials.

Base building is a core part of most survival games, Adrift on Land features a robust system with multiple structure parts, styles, and a stability mechanic to prevent sequence-breaking builds and add a sense of realism. The building system also extends to include a farming and crafting system, allowing the player to plant crops and build various workstations to craft tools and process raw materials.

All the gameplay menus are diegetic, immersing the player in the world of Adrift on Land by clearing the player's screen of clutter and making all the interactions feel directly connected with the game world.

Explore different biomes and environments on islands of land floating in the sky, hanging above the volatile core of a planet that has been ravaged by a long-past cataclysm. The player would need to learn how to traverse between the different islands and face the unique challenges presented by each.
